Victoria ISD's Administration Office, all campuses and district facilities will be closed Friday, Aug. 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. as employees gather for the district's annual Convocation in preparation for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
Convocation is a longstanding tradition in school districts that brings together teachers, administrators and staff to celebrate the beginning of a new school year. The event provides an opportunity to recognize employees, share the district's vision and priorities, and inspire staff as they prepare to welcome students back to campus on Wednesday, August 12.
In addition to the districtwide closure, Victoria ISD will also be completing scheduled internet line repair work during the same timeframe. As a result, select campuses will experience rolling internet outages between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Outages will occur in groups and are expected to last approximately one hour at each affected campus.
The following campuses will be impacted by the scheduled repair work:

Smith STEM Academy
Howell Middle School
Rowland Elementary School
Chandler Elementary School
Victoria East High School
DeLeon Elementary School
Victoria West High School
Cade Middle School
Schorlemmer Elementary School
Vickers Elementary School
During these scheduled outages, affected campuses may experience temporary interruptions to internet-based services, including phones and email.
Families and community members needing assistance from a campus experiencing a scheduled outage are encouraged to try contacting the campus again after 1 p.m., when normal operations and connectivity are expected to resume.
