Cade Middle School Orchestra

Welcome and Hello to all students and parents involved in the Cade Middle School Orchestra Program. The CMS Orchestra is a tight-knit family and is dependent upon the participation of the students and their parents. Please consider giving of yourself and your time to help build a strong, quality program we all can be proud of.

West Cluster - Fall Concert
Thursday October 12th, 2023@ West Auditorium 
Join the West side orchestras for their first concert of the season! The program will open with the advanced orchestras of Patti Welder and Cade middle schools followed by the Victoria West Junior Varsity orchestra and then finally the Varsity orchestra. This event also serves as our Booster Club's annual bake sale. You can purchase a multitude of baked goods after the concert is over! 

Holiday Concert
Tuesday December 5th, 2023 @ West Auditorium
Come and enjoy the music of the Christmas holiday performed by the Patti Welder/Cade orchestras. This concert will be the debut of Patti Welder and Cade's First-Year Orchestra. Traditional tunes will warm your heart, while other pieces will have a twist on familiar melodies. Bring the family and celebrate the season!

Spring Concert & End-of-Year Awards
Monday May 20th, 2024 @ West Auditorium
You won't want to miss the final concert of the season for the Patti Welder/Cade orchestras. Usually a themed concert, you'll enjoy music from various popular mediums. Concerts from previous years have included music from movies, television and even video games. The evening will also include brief award ceremonies for both the Advanced and First-Year Orchestras.

All-Region Orchestra Auditions
Saturday October 15th, 2023 @ 8:30-4pm @ VWHS
Patti Welder/Cade orchestra students will compete against other schools from Victoria, Corpus Christi, and Laredo for a spot in the All-Region Orchestra. With limited chairs in the orchestra this becomes the best of the best of Region 14 orchestra programs. 

All-Region Clinic and Concert
Friday and Saturday Nov. 3- 4th, 2023 @ Loredo, Tx
Students who made it into the All-Region orchestra will have a rehearsal Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon. The concert will take place Saturday evening. This year Victoria has the opportunity to host the event. 

UIL Concert & Sightreading
Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 - Victoria East HS
The orchestra programs prepare a concert program of three music selections from a Prescribed Music List. They will perform these selections in front of three official judges who will rate their performance from a 5 to 1 (1 being superior). The second part of the competition is sight-reading. The orchestra will move to another room where they will perform a piece of music that they have never seen before in front of three different judges. 

Solo & Ensemble
Tuesday, April 13th, 2024 @ Cade Middle School
Students are given the opportunity to explore the world of chamber music. They will perform a solo, ensemble or medium ensemble in front of a judge for a chance to win a 1st division on their performance. 

Spring Concert Tuesday May 20th, 2024 @ VWHS Patti Welder/Cade Combined Orchestras will perform a themed Spring Concert. Friends and Family join together to celebrate this years hard work. Students will receive awards for outstanding soloist, outstanding 6th grader, leadership, and musicianship.
