My name is Casey Sherman.  I am originally from Linden, TX, but graduated high school from Goliad High School.  I graduated college from University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the first grade, so I absolutely love what I do!  I have been a proud Cade Bulldog for 6 years!  I have been married for 8 years and we have a sweet 6 year old son who attends Schorlemmer (Go Bears!) and a spunky 2 year old son.  I enjoy spending time with my family and I also LOVE to read!

 Welcome to 8th Grade Pre-AP ELAR!!!

Although school is starting differently this year, we will still be doing a lot of projects and fun activities!

By Christmas break, you must purchase the book Night by Elie Wiesel.  Amazon also has the book, as well as Redbird books.  These are just suggestions.  You can get the book from anywhere, but it must be NEW.  Unfortunately, because we annotate in the book, the book cannot be a used copy.  I know many students may have a sibling that has already completed the assignment, unfortunately they cannot use a siblings copy either.  You may also choose to send $10 with your child and I will purchase the book for you.  If you choose this option, I will give out order forms when we return f2f.

Welcome to 8th ELAR!  

We will be using our recently adopted textbook HMH almost daily.  Since we are beginning remotely, we will be using it through the online portion.  Once we return to school, it is undetermined if we will switch to a paper copy of the textbook or continue to use the online version.  The online version of the textbook has a lot of features built in to enhance your child's reading experience.
