I am a dedicated educator with 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). I served the community of my hometown of Laredo, Texas, three hours south of Victoria, Texas. Accumulating experience from private ambulance transport, 911 emergency calls in Hebbronville, Texas, skilled visiting nurse, long-term care, mental health, med-surg, state school, and correctional nurse (from county jails to state jails). My extensive EMS and nursing background have equipped me with practical knowledge and skills, which I will bring to apply as a CTE Health Science Teacher at Victoria West HS.

Motivated by my passion for education and desire to inspire future generations of healthcare professionals, I have transitioned from nursing to teaching, beginning my first year, 2024-2025. I have earned my bachelor's degree in science from Texas A & M International University, my master's degree in science of healthcare administration from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and I am currently a doctoral candidate for Doctor of Healthcare Administration from the National University in Scottsdale, AZ. I bring my knowledge and experience to Victoria West HS to engage students in health sciences, teaching Principles of Health Science, Health Science Theory, and Medical Terminology.

I look forward to closing the gap between education and real-world experience by preparing Victoria West HS CTE students with the necessary tools to jump-start their careers after graduation.
