About Me

Hello. I am April Law, an AP U.S. History teacher with the goal of making history more interesting for my students. This is my 21st year of teaching, having taught across a wide range of grades and contents, from Kindergarten all the way through high school. Currently, I am in my fourth year of teaching Social Studies at Victoria West High School.

Throughout my career, I have taught at various schools in VISD, including my previous role at Patti Welder. My primary goal as an educator is to foster a genuine interest in U.S. history and encourage active student engagement in the learning process. I believe that when students connect with the material, they become more invested in their education and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

On a personal note, I am married and a proud mother of two children. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading a good book, and spending time with my family.

Tutoring Hours

I am available for tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays, after school, from 2:50 PM to 3:30 PM. I am also available most mornings from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM.
